Community involvement
A lifetime of working, volunteering and contributing to the communities I've called home.
Community involvement has been an important part of my life for many years.
I've had the opportunity to live, work, raise my family, operate businesses, volunteer and serve on boards and municipal council in the communities I've called home.
From school fundraising and community celebrations to public service, business management and emergency preparedness, I've enjoyed being involved in many different ways.
Each experience has brought opportunities to meet people, learn something new and work alongside others who care about their communities.

A Special Community Memory — The Santa Claus Parade
One community project that remains especially memorable was establishing the Grafton/Roseneath Santa Claus Parade.
What began as an idea became a nighttime parade in Grafton, organized with the help of family, friends and community volunteers.
The event included free skating and activities at the arena and later alternated between Grafton and Roseneath.
Although the parade eventually came to an end after I moved away from the area, it remains a wonderful example of what can happen when people come together, share ideas and contribute their time and energy.

Community Involvement Through the Years
Over the years, I've been fortunate to work with many dedicated people who give their time to support local organizations, organize community activities, raise funds and help others.
Some of my involvement has been through formal organizations and boards, while other opportunities have simply come from seeing something that needed to be done and offering to help.
I'm grateful for the experiences I've had, the people I've met and the communities that have been part of my life.
Community involvement has never been just about holding a position or belonging to an organization. For me, it's about participating, contributing and appreciating the people who help make our communities what they are.
