Trent Hills has been my home for 22 years. I raised my family here, worked and volunteered throughout our community, and today my grandchildren also call Trent Hills home.
I’m running for Ward 3 Councillor because good representation starts with listening, understanding the issues, doing the homework and making practical, informed decisions.
How I Will Serve
Listen. Understand. Consider. Decide.
Good representation starts with hearing from residents, understanding different perspectives and considering who may be affected by a decision.
Come prepared.
I will read the reports, understand the issues, ask questions and do my homework.
Treat every concern with respect.
Every concern deserves to be heard and treated with respect. That doesn't mean everyone will receive the answer they hoped for, but everyone deserves to know their concern was taken seriously.
Consider the whole picture.
Council decisions can affect residents, businesses, farmers, services and taxpayers differently. I will consider those impacts, along with the costs today, the costs tomorrow and the consequences for future generations.
Be honest about what I know and what I don't.
I won't pretend to have an answer when I don't have enough information. Sometimes responsible decision-making means asking more questions before reaching a conclusion.
Decide and explain why.
When I have the information needed, I believe a councillor has a responsibility to decide and vote. I will make the decision I believe is in the best interests of the community and explain the reasons for it.
I’m not asking you to elect me because I have all the answers. I’m asking you to trust the way I will listen, learn and arrive at a decision.

Previous municipal Council experience, combined with my current governance work, gives me a practical understanding of the responsibilities that come with serving at the Council table.

My experience in Trent Hills includes managing local businesses, volunteering throughout the community since the early 1990s, and raising my family here.
These experiences have helped me understand our community, the people who call it home and the practical effects council decisions can have on residents, businesses and families.
I want to put my experience, community knowledge and practical approach to work for Ward 3 and Trent Hills.
